The Meeting Brief

We were told to create a short film about a meeting to show our skills in recording. We split into groups and allocated one member of our team as the director and the other two were actors. We were asked to use different shots but were only allowed to do minimal editing which restricted our film's quality. In addition, we were given flip cameras to record the task we again hindered our ability to film.

Introduction to A2 Media Studies

My name is Raif Howley and I am embarking on an A2 Media Studies course based on a film marketing campaign. The genre we have been allocated to base our trailer, film poster and magazine front cover on is horror, which I feel is relevant to our age group and something we can relate to. This particularly interests me as my favourite genre of film is horror, so I feel ready to take up the task.

I feel I have learnt a lot from my AS course and so will look to consistently blog posts about research and planning as well as my practical work. The differences between our AS and A2 coursework are clear, in AS we worked on our own to produce solely magazine based works, whereas this year we shall work in groups and produce film-based work as well as publications.
